Peter Switzer is one of Australia's leading business and financial commentators, launching his own business 20 years ago. The Switzer Group has since grown into three successful companies spanning media and publishing, financial services and business coaching.

Peter is an award-winning broadcaster, twice runner up for the Best Current Affairs commentator award for radio, behind broadcaster Alan Jones. A former lecturer in economics at the University of NSW, Peter is currently:

  • weekly columnist for Yahoo!7 Finance
  • a regular contributor to The Australian newspaper
  • host of Talking Business for the Qantas in-flight service, Radio Q
  • host of his own TV show, Switzer, on SKY News Business Channel.

 

Greg Medcraft

Greg Medcraft joined as Commissioner to the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) in February 2009. Greg's regulatory responsibilities include investment banking, investment managers, super funds and financial advisers.

Prior to joining ASIC, Greg was Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at the Australian Securitisation Forum (ASF).

Greg spent nearly 30 years in investment banking at Société Générale in Australia, Asia, Europe and the Americas. More recently, he was the Managing Director and Global Head of Securitisation, based in New York.

In 2002, Greg co-founded the American Securitization Forum and was its Chairman from 2005 until 2007 when he returned to Australia. The American Securitization Forum is an industry group representing some 350 member institutions comprising all major stakeholders in the US$1 trillion US securitisation market.

In January 2008, he was appointed Chairman Emeritus of the American Forum and remains a member of that board and management committee.

 

Kevin Bailey

Kevin has been practicing as a financial planner since December 1986. He established the Money Managers Ltd in 1996, a 'Fee for Service' advisory organisation and in November 2008, they merged with Shadforth Financial Group and became a wholly owned subsidiary business.

Kevin is a former Director of the FPA. He received a Distinguished Service Award in 2002 and was made a Fellow of the FPA in May 2005. He currently sits on the Conduct Review Commission and the Professional Conduct Committee for the FPA.

The Federal Government appointed Kevin to the National Advisory Committee on Ageing between 2001 and 2004 and he has given evidence before a Senate Select Committee into fees and commissions in the financial planning industry. He has been a member of the Melbourne chapter of ASIC's Business Consultative Panel.

Kevin has written two books, 'Your Money Guide' and 'Money Guide 2'. He has presented radio talkback programs, and has written a weekly finance column for the Herald Sun newspaper for over 10 years.

Kevin is very involved in community issues. He has been the Honorary Consul General for East Timor since independence in 2002. He is a director of the Investment Advisory Board of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of East Timor, and a Director of Action Aid Australia. He is the patron of Life, Love and Health, a charity established to support women and children in East Timor. He is married with seven children.

Peter Greenaway has been with MLC for over 20 years in roles related to the distribution of core retail investment products, administration platforms and the sale of insurance and lending products.

Most recently Peter was appointed General Manager, Business Development in 2009. His team promotes the benefits of joining an MLC dealer group and is looking to increase the number of advisers working in MLC’s aligned dealer groups including Garvan FP, MLC FP, Apogee FP and Godfrey Pembroke Limited.

With over 30 years of diverse experience within financial services including stock broking, consumer finance, banking, financial planning and sales of financial products, he is a strong leader with a deep knowledge of the industry from a number of perspectives. He is a strong believer in the value of financial advice, and an advocate for sustainable industry change.

 

Andrew Inwood

Andrew Inwood is the Principal of brandmanagement and has more than 18 years experience in the Australian financial services industry. He worked for Rothschild Australia Asset Management where he headed the marketing team for four years before moving to AMP Investments where he spent more than a decade as head of marketing, before being seconded to Virgin Direct in the UK to establish the finance and investment arm of the group.

Andrew returned to Australia to establish Wizard Home Loans before starting brandmanagement in 2002 and CoreData in 2004.

The businesses now have offices in Australia, the United Kingdom, China, the United States and Manila.

The businesses sit on top of an unrivalled stream of data in Australian financial services, conducting thousands of mystery shopping events each year, a rolling series of focus groups and phone surveys.

Andrew's passion in financial services is to understand the customer perspective and in particular what is driving the behaviour of buyers and non buyers.

 

Craig Saville

Craig has over 26 years experience in the financial services industry. In his current role, Craig assists adviser businesses within the MLC licensee network to grow or sell their business by facilitating the buying and selling of client registers. Craig also manages the MLC Alliances Program which provides licensee services as a “Dealer to Dealer” arrangement.

Most recently Craig was State Manager, Victoria and Tasmania for MLC’s licensee services division (MLC Advice Solutions). His team included the practice development managers who work with Apogee, Garvan/MLC Financial Planning and Godfrey Pembroke advisers. Craig has also held this position in South Australia. During his time in this role, Craig and his team helped many adviser businesses transform to a new fee for advice remuneration model in addition to preparing businesses for eventual succession.

Before joining MLC, Craig worked in a distribution role with Commonwealth Financial Planning and as a Financial Adviser with IPAC.

Craig has an Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, a Post Graduate degree in Banking Management from Macquarie University and completed the Company Directors course through the AICD.

When not working, Craig loves nothing better than water skiing, playing golf and spending time with his family and he confesses to supporting Richmond in the AFL.

He has 20 years experience in media, both as a publisher and marketing executive at Trade News, Reed Business Publishing and InvestorInfo Limited. Prior to Conexus Financial, he headed up his own design and advertising agency company.

Colin is also a director of the Wayside Chapel for the homeless and an underwriter of The Hunger Project.
